I am from Nepal, where I completed my Master’s degree in Pharmaceutical Care. Before beginning the Master of Good Manufacturing Practice at UTS, I always wanted to explore the pharmaceutical field further. After gaining knowledge and experience in patient care, I decided to shift my focus to the manufacturing side of the industry.
While researching programs, this course stood out to me because of its strong focus on Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and international standards, particularly within the industrial sector. I also learned that the program is delivered in partnership with SeerPharma, a leading provider of technical compliance and quality assurance expertise, which I found very impressive. I decided to enrol in this program, hoping it would provide me with the knowledge and confidence to work in industry roles.
I joined UTS in July 2023 and completed the degree in July 2025. During this time, I developed a much clearer understanding of quality systems, quality control, regulatory frameworks, regulatory bodies, documentation, validation of manufacturing processes, auditing, clinical trials, and other related areas. This experience has helped me feel well prepared for a career in the pharmaceutical industry.
One of the most valuable components of the program was the Industrial Research Project in my second year. As part of this subject, students are placed in pharmaceutical companies, and I was fortunate to complete my placement at Complementary Medicine Group (CMG). There, I observed how quality systems, documentation, and compliance requirements are strictly implemented to ensure product quality and protect patient safety. This hands-on experience gave me valuable insight into real-world GMP operations and greatly strengthened my confidence to work in the pharmaceutical industry.
What I appreciated most about the GMP program was its practical approach to learning through real-world assessments, case scenarios, workshops, and industrial visits each year. The lecturers were friendly, approachable, and always willing to help, providing clear and detailed explanations.
As an international student, I felt well supported by the faculty’s dedication and by the welcoming environment at UTS. Completing this program has completely changed the way I view quality and compliance in the pharmaceutical industry.
My pharmacy background included some basic industry-related subjects, but they only provided surface-level knowledge. Now, I understand that quality is embedded in every step of manufacturing — from supplier verification and validation to documentation and audits — all aligned with global standards and guidelines to ensure patient safety. I feel more proactive in risk management and continuous improvement, which has opened new opportunities for roles in the pharmaceutical industry.
If you are interested in the pharmaceutical industry and aspire to build a career in this field, I highly recommend the Master of Good Manufacturing Practice at UTS. It is an outstanding program. The real-world projects, including my placement at Complementary Medicine Group, the supportive and approachable lecturers in the Graduate School of Health, and the multicultural environment, made my learning experience engaging and highly relevant.
The course is worth it for anyone aiming to build a career in pharmaceutical quality and GMP compliance.
