Publicly debuted Large Language Models (LLMs), such as ChatGPT by OpenAI (Microsoft), have initiated serious rethinking of business processes across all sectors of the economy. Consultancy firms are not immune from the potential disruption caused by these novel artificial intelligence (AI) tools. Global consulting firm PwC has recently instructed its staff not to use LLMs in their work1, demonstrating how these tools could impact traditional consulting practices.

However, despite the caution exhibited by some firms, LLM tools may become commonplace in workplaces and business practices shortly. This can reshape millions of jobs and the fundamental nature of work itself.

SeerPharma has engaged with students from The University of Melbourne's Master of Biotechnology program to thoroughly review the academic literature and hold discussions with industry and regulators. This collaboration aims to develop a comprehensive report investigating the impact of Large Language Models (LLMs) on Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and Quality in the biotechnology sector. The report will make evidence-based recommendations on how LLMs will change how GMP and Quality are managed over the short, medium, and long term.

AI for GMP Concept

The report will provide valuable insights to SeerPharma and the industry on remaining agile to new technologies and changes to work and practices. It will also be a resource for Quality and GMP professionals.

SeerPharma is looking for additional industry representatives to provide insights on their thoughts and use of LLMs in their workplace. The information provided to the study will be kept anonymous and confidential.
