SeerPharma is proud to announce that one of its very own, Consultant and Lecturer Aaron Bennett, has been selected to participate in the 2025 Merck Innovation Cup as part of the Smart Manufacturing team. The event will be held at Merck’s global headquarters in Darmstadt, Germany, from 19 to 25 July.
Merck, a global science and technology leader operating in more than 65 countries and employing over 63,000 people, hosts this highly competitive international programme to bring together top emerging talent from around the world. Participants are selected to develop groundbreaking ideas that address unmet customer needs across healthcare, manufacturing, and digital innovation, under the guidance of experienced industry professionals.
Aaron lectures in the Master of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) programme, which SeerPharma delivers in partnership with the University of Technology Sydney (UTS). This is the only postgraduate programme dedicated to GMP in the Asia-Pacific region. He is also undertaking his PhD, and as part of his candidature, submitted a proposal titled “Real-Time AI-Powered Namespace for GMP Manufacturing”, which was selected for its emphasis on digital innovation, practical feasibility, and real-world application in pharmaceutical manufacturing. The project explores how Industry 4.0 principles, including smart manufacturing and emerging digital technologies, can enhance data contextualisation, compliance-driven decision making and operational agility in regulated environments.
It bridges innovation with implementation-ready practicality, reflecting a shared goal between SeerPharma, UTS and Merck to support the advancement of digitalisation and technological innovation within the life sciences. This also highlights SeerPharma’s leadership not only in GMP best practices but also as an active leader in advancing Industry 4.0 and emerging technologies across the regulated sector.
We are delighted to share that Aaron’s proposal has been accepted, and he will join a select group of global innovators at Merck’s headquarters to potentially further develop his concept under the guidance of industry mentors.
