Webinar | The Burning Platform: Compliantly Migrate SAP ECC to S/4HANA

April 02, 2026
by SeerPharma

SAP ECC6 has been an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) workhorse for decades, but its lifecycle is coming to an end. SAP has already ended support for older ECC versions (EHP 0–5) as of 31 December 2025 and SAP has announced that mainstream support for ECC (EHP6-8) will end in 2027; with extended maintenance options to 2030 for an additional fee.

Without extended maintenance, this means no standard support, legal changes, patches, or updates which creates significant risk for ongoing operational stability — especially around security, compliance, and regulatory requirements.

Replacing ECC6 is SAP’s S/4HANA, with a redesigned ERP core built on in-memory computing.

Migration from legacy ECC6 systems to the modern S/4HANA digital core is critical and using the RISE with SAP platform provides a "Business Transformation as a Service" (BTaaS) model, combining cloud infrastructure, managed services, and the S/4HANA private cloud into one subscription.”

This isn’t just an IT upgrade, this is about business continuity, regulatory compliance, data integrity and future-proofing your digital core.

Like any IT project in regulated GxP industries (such as pharmaceuticals, biotech and medical devices), the migration to S/4HANA presents compliance and validation challenges.
