SeerPharma Singapore was the selected vendor and training partner to conduct introductory Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) training for the BioProcessing Technology Institute (BTI) of Singapore.
BTI is a national research institute and is funded by the Agency for Science Technology and Research (A*STAR) through the Biomedical Research Council. The core expertise in bioprocess science and engineering also initiates new research programmes such as immunology, expression engineering, animal cell technology, stem cells and the like.
BTI’s goal is the training of a cadre of resourceful science and engineering graduates and Ph.D holders through their internship programme and a variety of post-graduate scholarships.
The rationale for the Good Manufacturing Practices training is to equip the interns better before they are recruited by biologics manufacturing companies in Singapore. Interns undergo a 2.5-day GMP course and have to complete an assessment conducted by SeerPharma Singapore. The training modules have been selected by BTI to ensure that the interns have a good understanding of GMP principles, quality assurance and validation.
Due to the positive feedback from the participants, the scientists and employers of the interns, BTI has engaged SeerPharma for more than 3 years with these GMP courses to be conducted annually. One of the employers was very pleased that their hired interns understood and could apply GMP principles at their workplace.
